Stone Ridge Public Library

By calendar year 2005, much of the original part of the Stone Ridge Library (c.1790) had suffered the wear of centuries... The existing masonry walls of the two story stone building were in structural disrepair and needed large exterior buttressing in order to prevent collapse. Through the combined efforts of supportive and committed staff, local community members, trades people and local design professionals, we were happy to be able help coordinate a museum quality restoration to the earliest original (and most sensitive) building fabric. The repair work included thorough re-pointing of the entire south and west elevations, installation of new structural steel tension rods (and hand forged wall anchor plates) in both directions (and at multiple levels), and the restoration, repair and refurbishment of all of the exterior windows and doors. The work is ongoing, but we are proud to help revive our local heritage back into service.
